Construction Labourer – Structural Restoration (Experienced)

Maddison Construction Limited (MCL) is a locally owned construction company serving the National Capital Region, completing general contracting and structural restoration work across the industrial, commercial and institutional sectors and multi-unit residential. MCL is hiring an experienced Construction Labourer to complete concrete, masonry, facade and waterproofing restoration work across varied commercial project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Complete selective demolition and removal of deteriorated concrete, masonry, coatings, sealants and other damaged materials.
• Prepare repair areas by saw-cutting, chipping, grinding, cleaning and removing loose or unsound material.
• Clean and prepare reinforcing steel and other substrates for repair.
• Assist with forming, mixing, placing, patching and finishing concrete, repair mortars, grouts and related materials.
• Assist with masonry repairs, joint preparation, sealant installation, coatings and waterproofing work.
• Safely operate chipping hammers, grinders, saws, mixers, vacuums and other restoration tools.
• Work from scaffolding, elevating platforms or swing stages when trained and authorized.
• Follow repair drawings, measurements, manufacturer instructions and written procedures.
• Apply controls for silica, dust, debris, water and material handling.

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant construction experience in concrete, masonry, facade, waterproofing or structural restoration.
• Experience with selective demolition, surface preparation, concrete repair or similar.
• Competence with grinders, saws, chipping equipment and mixers.
• Working knowledge of job-site safety, fall protection, silica and dust controls, and PPE.

Preferred

• Experience on commercial, institutional, industrial or multi-unit residential restoration projects.
• Rigging certification, Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid or suspended access training.
• Experience with coatings, sealants or waterproofing systems.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
