Watching videos will only take you so far with epoxy floors. To really learn it, you need to prep a slab, mix a batch and pour it yourself, with a trainer there to catch your mistakes. That is what in-person epoxy training events give you.
Quebec has more hands-on epoxy training on the calendar than any other province right now. There are short evening workshops, two-day courses, full three-day certifications and even a week-long metallic program, spread across Montréal, Sherbrooke, St-Hyacinthe, Québec City and Gatineau. Most courses are taught in French, with one English session noted below. Here is what is coming up:
Upcoming Epoxy Training in Quebec
Les idées d’Époxy: Evening Flake and Metallic Floor Workshops
- Format: 4-hour evening workshop, 6 PM to 10 PM
- Investment: $349 CAD, including a $100 in-store credit ($299 for the November 11 session)
- Language: French
Upcoming sessions:
- Metallic floor: Montréal, October 13
- Flake floor: St-Hyacinthe, October 14
- Flake floor: Montréal, October 20
- Metallic floor: Sherbrooke, October 21
- Flake floor: Gatineau, October 26
- Flake floor: Québec City, November 4
- Metallic floor: St-Hyacinthe, November 11
- Flake floor: Sherbrooke, November 25
Why It’s Worth Your Time: These are the easiest way to get started. Each workshop focuses on one system, flake or metallic, and every group builds a real floor of at least 10′ x 10′ with an experienced trainer. You cover surface prep, calculations, mixing, application and repairs, and the $100 store credit basically pays for part of your first job’s material. The evening format means you don’t lose a work day. The Gatineau session is the only one in the Outaouais this fall, so it is a good pick for Ottawa-area contractors too.
Epoxy et Cie Canada: 2-Day Epoxy Flooring Training
- Format: 2 full days, 8 AM to 4:30 PM
- Location: Greater Montréal area (exact address confirmed at registration)
- Investment: $595 CAD plus tax, lunches included
Upcoming sessions:
Why It’s Worth Your Time: This is strong value for a two-day course. You cover the main systems customers ask for: solid colour epoxy, polyaspartic, metallic, flake and quartz, plus hands-on time with grinders and polishers for surface prep. Epoxy et Cie is a Quebec coatings manufacturer, so you learn straight from the people who make the products. Graduates also get technical support, access to their referral network for new contracts, and a take-home training guide.
Maison Epoxy: Epoxy 101 and 7-Day Metallic Floor Training
- Location: 1100 rue Galt Est, Sherbrooke
- Language: French
Upcoming sessions:
- Epoxy 101 Workshop: October 24-25, 2026 ($399.99, all materials supplied)
- 7-Day Metallic Epoxy Floor Training: November 21-27, 2026 ($1,499.99 CAD)
Why It’s Worth Your Time: Epoxy 101 is a solid foundation class. It covers the main types of epoxy, mixing, tinting and pouring, plus design effects like marble, granite and flake, and you take home three practice boards you made yourself. The 7-day metallic program is the most in-depth option in the province. After two days of classroom training, you spend five full days installing a real metallic floor for an actual client alongside Maison Epoxy’s crew, from grinding and crack repair to the final topcoat. Both include a lifetime 10% discount on Maison Epoxy products.
Cérapoxy: Practical Epoxy Flooring Workshop
- Date: November 6, 2026 (8:30 AM to 4 PM)
- Location: Québec City, Les Rivières area (exact address sent to registered participants)
- Investment: $499.99 CAD plus tax, lunch included
Why It’s Worth Your Time: This one-day course happens on a real job site, not in a classroom. Participants help install an actual floor of at least 200 square feet, working through safety, surface prep, grinder demos, base coat and flake broadcast, an intro to metallic epoxy, and the final topcoat. All tools and materials are provided. Bring steel-toe boots and clothes you don’t mind ruining.
XPS Montreal: 3-Day Hands-On Epoxy Flooring Course
- Location: 980 AV Saint-Charles #102, Vaudreuil-Dorion
- Investment: $1,495 (regular $1,850)
- Class size: 15 seats
Upcoming sessions:
- November 12-14, 2026 (French)
- January 7-9, 2027 (French)
- February 11-13, 2027 (English)
Why It’s Worth Your Time: This is the most complete certification course in the Montréal area. Over three days you prep and grind concrete, then install metallic, flake and quartz systems and epoxy countertops, with time on product selection, estimating and starting an epoxy business in Quebec. The February session is taught in English, which makes it one of the few full epoxy courses in the region for anglophone contractors from Quebec, eastern Ontario and the Maritimes.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Hands-on training gives you something online content can’t: real reps on real floors, with someone next to you when things go sideways. You learn to fix problems before they cost you a job, and you get to ask the questions that only come up when you are halfway through a metallic pour.
A few practical notes before you book:
- Pick the format that fits where you are. The evening workshops are a cheap way to test the waters. The 2- and 3-day courses are better if you plan to sell epoxy floors as a business.
- Most courses are taught in French. If you need English, look at the XPS Montreal session in February.
- Class sizes are small and spots fill up, so register early if you have a date in mind.
- Beginners are welcome at every course on this list. No experience needed.
- We update this page as new Quebec courses are announced, so check back before you plan your next one.
