Getting good at epoxy floor coatings takes more than watching a few YouTube videos. At some point you need to get your hands on a grinder, mix a real batch of product, and work through problems with someone who has already made all the mistakes. That is where in-person epoxy training events come in.
Right now the hands-on training in Alberta is centred in Calgary, where Xtreme Polishing Systems (XPS) runs its 3-day epoxy flooring course at what it calls Canada’s largest epoxy training facility. There are several sessions on the calendar this fall, so you can pick the weekend that fits your schedule. Here is what is coming up:
Upcoming Epoxy Training in Alberta
XPS Calgary 3-Day Full Epoxy Flooring Course: October 16-18
- Dates: October 16-18, 2026 (8 AM to 4 PM daily)
- Location: 777 64th Ave SE, Unit 27, Calgary
- Investment: $1,495 CAD (10% off a second ticket)
Why It’s Worth Your Time: This is a full start-to-finish course, not a demo. You work on real concrete slabs with professional tools and finish complete systems from surface prep to final topcoat. It covers grinding, profiling, moisture testing and concrete repair, then flake, quartz and metallic systems, epoxy countertops and cove base. The last piece is the business side: coverage rates, estimating, pricing and marketing your work.
All materials, tools, breakfast and lunch are included, and you leave with a certification plus lifetime support from the XPS team. This session is days away, so call or book now if you want a seat.
XPS Calgary 3-Day Full Epoxy Flooring Course: October 23-25

- Investment: $1,495 CAD
Why It’s Worth Your Time: Same hands-on format, one week later. This session also covers glitter epoxy finishes and epoxy chemistry basics, and the price includes all materials, tools, meals, a training manual and certification. Class sizes are small, so you get real one-on-one time with the instructors. It is a good fit for flooring installers adding epoxy, general contractors moving into decorative concrete, or anyone starting a coatings business from scratch.

- Dates: November 20-22, 2026 (Friday to Sunday, 8 AM to 4 PM)

Why It’s Worth Your Time: If October is too soon, this is the one to book. You get the full program: concrete profiling, grinding, moisture testing, crack repair, and installing solid colour, flake, quartz and metallic systems, plus cove base and polyaspartic topcoats. Graduates get a completion certificate and lifetime WhatsApp support from the XPS team while they take on their first jobs. Training in late November also means you are ready to sell epoxy floors before the spring rush.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
In-person training gives you something that online content can’t: actual reps on real floors, with someone standing next to you when things go sideways. You learn how to troubleshoot problems before they cost you a job, handle product in real conditions, and ask questions that only come up when you are elbow-deep in a metallic pour.
A few practical notes before you book:
- Spots fill fast, especially for weekend courses that are easy to fit around existing work. If you have a date in mind, register early.
- All three sessions are the same core course, so pick based on timing. XPS offers 10% off a second ticket, which helps if you are training a partner or new hire.
- Beginners are welcome. You don’t need any prior experience to register.
- Edmonton contractors: there are no Edmonton sessions on the calendar right now. We update this page as new Alberta courses are announced, so check back.
